Serenade for Orchestra in A major, B403

Perhaps in response to the success of his two preceding serenades for strings and wind instruments respectively, Dvořák decided to write a third serenade, this time for the whole orchestra. For unknown reasons, however, this work was never written. Dvořák ultimately only wrote sketches for the first two movements, Tempo di marcia (A major) and Menuet (C sharp minor), and four bars of the third movement (these he later used for the third movement of his String Quartet No. 10 in E flat major).
