Malybrok-Stieler(ova), Otilie (1836 - 1913)

German poet and translator with a chief interest in Slavic literature. She translated works by Macha and Zeyer into German. Dvorak chose some of the poems from her collection Lyrische Gedichte und Ubertragungen nach bomischer Kunst- und Volks-Poesie as texts for his Four Songs, Op. 82. Stieler translated into German the texts of Dvorak’s song cycles In Folk Tone, Op. 73, and Love Songs, Op. 83, and also the libretto for his opera Dimitrij.
